The Chair of Tectonic Geodesy at the Faculty of Geosciences is looking for a 

Postdoc (m,f,x) for 1 year with 39,83 hours per week, TV-L E13

The working group Tectonic Geodesy is researching the details of plate motion and the relation of these motions to occurrences of earthquakes.

The position is funded by an ERC Starting Grant in the project TectoVision, a project that aims to uncover the details of plate motion spanning the minutes to decades timescales.

Your tasks:

  • Experimenting with GNSS displacement time series processing for recovery of transient tectonic signals
  • Deployment and maintenance of permanent low-cost GNSS stations in Greece

Your profile:

  • A PhD degree in geodesy or related geoscientific research area
  • Experience in processing GNSS displacement time series (using software such as GAMIT, Bernese, Gipsy, etc.)
  • GNSS Fieldwork experience

If the position is funded by third-party funds the employee has no teaching obligation.

At the request of the applicant (m/f/x), the position can also be taken up on a part-time basis.
The position can be extended longer if part time hours are worked.
