The Chair of Applied Solid State Physics is involved in the research of semiconductors both with regard to fundamental physical phenomena and the development of innovative devices.
The project aims at improving the proton therapy for cancer treatment by developing new detectors which will increase the control on the irradiation dose and make treatments faster and more reliable.

If the position is funded by third-party funds the employee has no teaching obligation.
The project is an intensive and close cooperation with our partners in France and therefore also includes longer stays abroad in Nice and Strasbourg.
A co-tutelle with a French co-supervisor is planned.
