Postdoctoral Researcher (m,f,x) in experimental hadron physics for 3 years, 39,83 hours per week, TVL E13

The department "Fair Forschung NRW (FFN)" invites outstanding candidates to apply for a Postdoctoral Researcher position for experimental research focused on hadron spectroscopy with experiments conducted with the CLAS12 experiment at Jefferson Lab, located in Newport News VA, USA. CLAS12 conducts a broad program of research using the electromagnetic interaction to probe the structure of the nucleon (protons and neutrons), the production and decay of light mesons, and aspects of the interactions of nucleons in the atomic nucleus.

Your tasks:

  • Evaluate hadronic properties based on the observation of radiative decays
  • Develop analysis methods for the identification of dileptons
  • Perform a complete data analysis for a specific meson decay
  • Interpretation of the results with the help of simulations
  • Participate in experiments and perform service work

Your profile:

  • A doctorate in physics with a focus on experimental work in hadron or particle physics
  • Very good communication skills in English (both verbal and written)
  • Experience with analysis and simulation software
