The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum is seeking to fill the W3 professorship for "Drive Technology" at the Institute of Product and Service Engineering as of 01.03.2023.
We are looking for an internationally recognised personality with proven leadership qualities and, if possible, industrial experience in the field of the advertisement, who would like to actively contribute to the further development of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Ruhr-Universität Bochum. The acquisition of third-party funds through industrial cooperation and publicly funded projects is expected. A research focus on one or more of the following research fields is required:
The focus of the professorship is to complement the existing professorships at the Institute of Product and Service Engineering and provide links to the Centre for the Engineering of Smart Product-Service Systems (ZESS).
The future holder of the position will fully represent the subject of design engineering in teaching. The teaching is to be provided in the compulsory and elective areas of the degree programmes of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Ideal candidates (m/f/d) have both practical experience in development and design as well as didactic skills for compulsory courses with a large number of students.
A positively evaluated junior professorship, habilitation or equivalent academic achievements as well as proof of special suitability for academic teaching are required, and the willingness to participate in academic self-administration.
