The Chair of Systems Security of the Faculty of Computer Science is looking for a

PhD student (m,f,x) for "DigiFit" Project for 3 years with 39,83 hours per week (TV-L E13)

In this BMBF project, we develop a canon of "safe digital habits'' (SDGs) for citizens that simply and effectively teach "digital fitness''. These are developed based on (1) an analysis of key threats and trends, (2) an analysis of the effectiveness of costs and benefits of potential SDGs, and (3) through modelling, a priority list of key safe digital behaviours based on (1) and (2).

Your tasks:

  • Design, implement and evaluate a framework for collecting telemetry data during the process of training users to understand their digital habits
  • Conduct a critical assessment of existing and upcoming security and privacy threat in the IT Security field
  • Create intermediary reports for the BMBF project coordinator, industry partners and other relevant stakeholders

Your profile:

  • A Master’s degree in computer science or a relevant discipline
  • Excellent programming skills
  • A good command of spoken and written English
  • Good communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with your peers and stakeholders

If the position is funded by third-party funds the employee has no teaching obligation.
