The Chair of Materials Discovery and Interfaces at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is looking for a

research associate (m,f,x) for an Early Career Research Group (ECRG) in the area “High entropy intermetallic thin films for electrocatalysis”, for 4 years, 39,83 hours per week, TVL E14

The Collaborative Research Center CRC 1625 “Atomic-scale understanding and design of multifunctional compositionally complex solid solution surfaces” establishes a new Early Career Research Group (ECRG) in the area “High entropy intermetallic thin films for electrocatalysis”. For this, the CRC searches a group leader on the postdoctoral level aiming for a scientific career in the research area of the CRC. The group is funded for 4 years, with an intended start in the beginning of 2025. The ECRG is closely embedded in the CRC’s research area of new, compositionally complex materials for electrocatalysis (https://www.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/crc1625/).

The ECRG should add complementary expertise to the CRC. The collaborative network of the CRC will be a perfect community to establish an ECRG as it allows access to all necessary synthesis and characterization facilities within its framework as well as collaboration possibilities with theory, simulation and data science groups.

The Ruhr-Universität Bochum is one of Germany’s leading research universities, addressing the whole range of academic disciplines. A highly dynamic setting enables researchers and students to work across the traditional boundaries of academic subjects and faculties. To create knowledge networks within and beyond the university is RUB’s declared aim.

The Ruhr-Universität Bochum stands for diversity and equal opportunities. For this reason, we favour a working environment composed of heterogeneous teams, and seek to promote the careers of individuals who are underrepresented in our respective professional areas. The Ruhr-Universität Bochum expressly requests job applications from women.
