The Horst Görtz Institute for IT Security of the Faculty for Informaticsis looking for a 

PhD Position (m,f,x) for 3 years, 39,83 hours per week, TVL E13

CASA is based at the Horst Görtz Institute for IT Security. It is regarded as one of the top research institutions, is home to Europe's largest IT security training programs, maintains extensive networks with the scientific communication and industry, and has produced numerous successful cyber security start-ups. In addition, the Max Planck Society established the Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy in the immediate vicinity of the cluster, which has a particularly stimulating effect on research in CASA. We are looking for a suitable PhD candidate interested in the following Fundamental Research Project: "Preventing Front-running Attacks on Dapps" (Supervision: Ghassan Karame, Chair for Information Security, Ruhr-Universität Bochum)

  •  The expectation is to work towards a doctorate. 

Your profile:
Required Experience & Skills:

  • Master degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English
  • Background in the areas of IT security and privacy, system security, blockchain technologies is a strong plus Experience in software development including experience with programming languages, such as Python, Golang, Java, or C/C++ is also a plus
  • Are you excited to work in an international, dynamic, and multicultural research team? Do you have a background/interest in blockchain technologies, or general IT security/privacy concepts? Are you excited about building highly performant secure systems? If so, we'd like to hear from you.
