The Chair of Biochemistry of plants of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology is looking for a 

Research Scientist Biochemistry of Plants  (m/f/d)  for 3 years, 39.83 hours/week, (Salary level E13 TVL)

We offer an excellently equipped chair with two mass spectrometers and all the facilities to carry out biochemical and/or molecular biological work. The job holder is offered their own laboratory and the prospect of support from a technical employee.

The research interests of the chair "Biochemistry of Plants" concern fundamental processes of differentiation and development of chloroplasts, as well as the operational control of their functions. The advertised position is intended to complement and expand this work.

Your tasks:

  •  The job holder is given the freedom to develop an independent scientific profile, which should have the biology and biogenesis of chloroplasts as its subject in the broadest sense. Proven ability to successfully raise third-party funds is advantageous. In addition to the development of an independent scientific profile, participation in the basic teaching of the chair and the development of your own course offerings are expected.

Your profile:

  • University degree in biology or biochemistry with doctorate
  • Experience in work on organelle biology, in particular on chloroplast biogenesis and chloroplast functions
  • Experience in raising third-party funds would be an advantage
  • Experience in teaching
