The Faculty of Philology at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum invites applications for the position of a tenured full-time Professor (W2) in Romance Philology with a focus on French and Italian Linguistics with an expected start date of April 1, 2023.


The future holder of the position should represent the subject area in its entire breadth in research and teaching and participate in the national and international study programs in the area of B.A., M.A. and M.Ed. as well as in the Master's program "Empirical Multilingualism Research". In the area of research, participation in the international research focus "Migration and (Empirical) Multilingualism" and willingness to collaborate in research networks of the faculty and the university are expected. Furthermore, openness to cultural studies issues is desired.

Positive evaluation as a junior professor, habilitation or equivalent academic achievement and evidence of special aptitude are just as much required as the willingness to participate in the self-governing bodies of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum and to generally get involved in university processes according to Ruhr-Universität Bochum’s mission statement.
