The Faculty of Management and Economics at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, at the Sales Management Department (SMD), invites applications for the position of a Professor W3 or W1 with Tenure Track W3 (m/f/d) in Sales Management commencing at earliest possible date.

The future holder of the chair will represent the subject in research and teaching (BSc and MSc) with broad expertise and high didactical competence. The professor will be part of the Sales Management Department and should help to further extent its international reputation in research and teaching. We welcome candidates with a quantitative-empirical research focus on sales management and an excellent research record. We expect the candidate to work in research areas that are strongly linked with research of the Sales Management Department at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, e.g., in the areas of B2B sales, sales organization, sales strategy, personal selling, price setting and price negotiation in sales as well as sales force compensation, sales force management and sales leadership.
The future chair holder must fully cover the teaching in the field of Sales Management and General Management in German and English in the bachelor and master study programs offered by the faculty. If the required German language skills are not fully available when taking up the position, it is expected that the candidate will prove his or her ability within 2 years.
The position W1 Tenure-Track W3 will be filled with a tenure track for the professorship to W3. If the evaluation is positive, the professorship will be in an appropriately simplified procedure without a new announcement.
