The Psychological Methods lab at the Faculty of Psychology is looking for a

doctoral reaearcher (m,f,x) for 3 years with 29,8725 hours per week, TVL E13

At the Psychological Methods lab at the Faculty of Psychology, we conduct research on loneliness, well-being, and personality across the lifespan. For more information on our research, please visit http://www.pml.psy.rub.de.

LOTIS is a five-year project funded by an ERC Consolidator Grant that attempts to advance our understanding of how loneliness and places are linked.

extent: part-time

beginning: as soon as possible

Your tasks:

  • Conceptualization, implementation and analysis of at least two cross-sectional studies to develop the new taxonomy
  • Conceptualization, implementation and analysis of a citizen science study in the city of Bochum
  • Implementation of Open Science principles in all project phases (e.g., pre-registration of studies, transparent research data management)
  • Publication of English-language articles on the project results

Your profile:

  • Master degree in psychology or a related subject must have been completed at the time of starting the position
  • Experience in scientific work, e.g., as a research assistant or in the context of a research internship
  • Above-average academic performance, especially in methodological subjects
  • Advanced statistical skills (e.g., structural equation modeling, multilevel modeling) and very good knowledge of the statistical software R and its applications
  • Enthusiasm for the topic of the project (topic-specific expertise is of advantage, but not a requirement)
  • Very good command of written and spoken English; knowledge of German is of advantage
  • Excellent self-management skills
  • Reliability, ability to work in a team and high commitment
