The Chair of Materials Discovery and Interfaces at the Faculty of mechanical engineering is looking for a

Postdoctoral Researcher (m,f,x) - Information Management & Materials Informatics, until 30.06.2026 (end of project), 39,83 hours per week, TVL E13

The Chair of Materials Discovery and Interfaces is one of the leading research institutions in combinatorial materials research. By producing material libraries and characterizing them using high-throughput measurement methods, large amounts of data are generated and processed daily. Proper data storage and the development of web-based user interfaces represent significant challenges. Combined with data analysis methods such as data mining or big data, these efforts enable new scientific insights and the creation of knowledge-based predictive models. The ideal candidate will be capable of software development and practical applications in collaboration with research groups of the CRC TR 247 and beyond (e.g. CRC 1625, Synergy Grant DEMI) in the fields of Research Data Management and Materials Informatics.

In this position, you will focus on integrating and analyzing materials science data from various sources using RDMS tools. Your work will contribute to advance the understanding of material properties and their potential applications. You can expect to work on exciting projects in an interdisciplinary research environment focusing on data science. The position offers substantial freedom to implement creative solutions. Additionally, we provide opportunities to engage in academic projects related to software development for materials science.
