The Chair of History of the Ottoman Empire and Turkey at the Faculty of History is looking for a 

research associate (m,f,x) for 3 years, 25,89 hours per week, TVL E13

The professorship is concerned with the history of the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Turkey, with a focus on Southeast Europe and the Mediterranean regions. A particular research interest is the diverse relationships between the Ottoman Empire and the neighbouring states/empires.

Your tasks:

  • Research in the field of Ottoman history with a special focus on Southeast Europe and/or the Mediterranean regions
  • Teaching
  • Collaboration at the Center for Mediterranean Studies at the Ruhr-University Bochum
  • Integration into the scientific activities of the professorship

Your profile:

  • Completed master's degree in history
  • Good knowledge of at least one Southeast European language
