The professorship is concerned with the history of the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Turkey, with a focus on Southeast Europe and the Mediterranean regions. A particular research interest is the diverse relationships between the Ottoman Empire and the neighbouring states/empires.

- Teaching
- Collaboration at the Center for Mediterranean Studies at the Ruhr-University Bochum
- Integration into the scientific activities of the professorship
Your profile:
- Completed master's degree in history
- Good knowledge of at least one Southeast European language
