Postdoc (m,f,x) in cryogenic atom probe characterization of energy materials for 2 years, 39,83 hours per week, TVL E13

The chair of "Atomic-scale Characterisation" is studying materials at the atomic level.

The chair of Atomic-scale Characterisation is looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher in materials science with extensive experience in cryogenic atom probe specimen preparation and atom probe measurements of energy materials.
The postdoctoral researcher will work under the European Research Council (ERC) consolidator ‘INTERACT’ project.

Your tasks:

  • Developing new cryogenic atom probe sample preparation protocols by focused ion beam scanning electron microscopy for characterizing battery or electrocatalyst materials.
  • Innovating new correlative methods and cryogenic workflow for characterizing battery or electrocatalyst materials.
  • Assisting atom probe or other microcopy measurements for the chair of Atomic-scale Characterization.

The candidate (m/f/x) musst have:

  • a PhD degree in materials science, chemistry or physics
  • extensive experience in atom probe measurements, cryogenic atom probe sample preparation by FIB, glovebox, ultra high vacuum transfer suitcase, and scanning electron microscopy
  • experiences in the characterization of energy or functional materials
  • a high level of spoken and written English
  • can work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • can work in a multicultural environment
  • The candidate (m/f/x) may have: Experiences in performing electrochemical measurements
