The Chair of Neuropsychology from the Faculty of Psychology is looking for a 

Postdoc (m,f,x), full- time, till 31.12.2023, TVL E13

The proposed project focuses on the neural mechanisms of hippocampal memory functions and the relationship of memory to the distinctiveness of stimulus-specific neural representations. We will assess the reactivation of these representations after learning and their transformation related to pattern separation processes.

We are seeking for a candidate with a strong background in neuroscience and experience in recording and analysing electrophysiological data in humans or animals related to learning and memory. The successful candidate will have a PhD and a strong track record on this topic.

Future tasks:

  • Planning, piloting and establishing experimental paradigms
  • Acquiring data from epilepsy patients
  • Analysing the data (including time-frequency analyses and multivariate analyses of stimulus-specific representations)
  • Presenting the data and preparing manuscripts

Your profile:

  • PhD in neuroscience
  • Experience with the acquisition and analysis of electrophysiological data during memory functions (ideally memory consolidation) in animals or humans
  • Strong publication track record on these topics
  • Strong skills in data analysis
  • Excellent English skills
